24th Annual Apple Festival — Sept. 24

The North Central Chamber of Commerce kicks off the annual fall event today at 10 a.m.

Today is the first day of the 24th Annual Johnston Apple Festival, hosted by the .

This is a rain or shine event.

Where: Johnston Memorial Park, Hartford and Memorial Avenues, Johnston (see map below for location).

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Parking: Several free parking lots are available inside the park.

Vendors: Dozens of local businesses are expected to be at the Festival offering a variety of products. A map of the vendors scheduled to be at the Festival today is attached to this article.

Opening Ceremonies: A parade and other ceremonies, featuring the Johnston High School Band & Chorus, is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.

Entertainment: Several acts are scheduled to take the stage during the day today:

Ocean State Chorus….Barbershop sounds!
11:00 ~ 11:30 a.m.

Academy Players
12:00 ~ 1:00 p.m.

Knuf Said … Fun, funky trio!
1:45 ~ 3:00 p.m.

Karaoke with WRIK Entertainment!
