Johnston residents Anthony Gallonio and John Valetta and Maria Valetta recently met Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts. They attended a special breakfast event with other lucky winners from the “Gronk Chomp” sweepstakes on November 26 at Gillette Stadium.
The sweepstakes, which was sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, ran from September through October. During that time, fans were given the opportunity to play an online game called “Gronk Chomp.” In a classic video game setting, Gronk fought off defenders as he chomped his way through the game board, trying to get to the Big N’ Toasted Breakfast Sandwiches in the end zones.
More than 5,000 people entered the sweepstakes and over 45,000 people played the game and 87 winners, hailing from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, and New Hampshire, were chosen at random to attend the breakfast. The event was emceed by Gary Tanguay from Comcast SportsNet and included a Q&A session, photos with attendees as well as Gronkowski playing the “Gronk Chomp” game
