More About Johnston Municipal Court
Following the relocation of Marian J. Mohr Library to its new space in the spring of 2011, the former site was renovated to house the town's municipal court.
On Nov. 19, 2011, local, state, and federal officials gathered for a grand opening ceremony, marking the end of six and a half months of work by muncipal workers, business owners, and volunteers.
Originally started in 1964, Johnston's municipal court moved to its former location at 1395 Atwood Ave. in 1993.
Each Wednesday of the month, the court handles arraignments. Trials are held on the first and third Tuesdays, and Probate cases are heard on the second and fourth Tuesdays. The Johnston Town Council also holds its public meetings at the court.
Administrator and Clerk of the Court Joseph Tedino is one of five members of the court staff, which includes two part-time judges and two deputy clerks.
