Every Wednesday, JohnstonPatch features great deals and sales that you can find in Johnston and the surrounding area. This week, you can celebrate the start of baseball season — just find a spring training game on TV and host a summer-in-February party! From Johanna Corcoran, a member of our Mom's Council: Stop and Shop (446 Putnam Pike, Smithfield) has Jennie-O turkey hotdogs on sale for 97 cents a package. I bought a bunch of packages to freeze — it's not too early to stock up for summer cookouts! The sale is good through Thursday.
Now that we're past Valentine's Day, there's plenty of candy left on local store shelves at deep discounts. From April, a member of our Mom's Council, we received this e-mail: "I just bought Valentine candy that was 50 percent off in Stop & Shop on Atwood Avenue and CVS on Hartford Avenue. I use the candy to bake with. You can also freeze it or use if for a treat for the kids." This deal likely won't last through the weekend, so indulge that sweet tooth (or add those M&Ms to a tasty recipe) and check out this week's deal!
