Wind Advisory Issued for Johnston

Heavy rain and high winds are expected to continue throughout the day.

 


The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Johnston and much of the surrounding area through 3 p.m. as high winds and heavy rains are expected to continue through the afternoon. 

The strongest winds are forecast for 10 a.m. through 3 p.m. Sustained winds from 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 45 mph are possible during this time, according to the alert.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert for the area, noting rain will continue throughout the day, possibly becoming heavy a times, causing minor urban and poor drainage flooding in some spots.
