Whiz Kid : Bianca Robbins, Johnston Lightning Soccer

Each week, JohnstonPatch features one of our town's great kids.

Bianca Robbins, grade 4, at Brown Avenue Elementary School.

Accomplishment: Scored the winning goal in the Under-12 Girls B West Team's victory in the youth soccer finals on March 19.

Key To Awesomeness: Dedication, hard work, and varied interests. Bianca has been playing soccer since she was 3 years old. She is now 10, and plays midfield and forward position for four different soccer teams.

She attends three to four soccer camps a year, and is is currently in a strength and conditioning program at Next Level Fitness in Johnston; she also takes tennis lessons, and has played golf and softball. If that weren't enough, Bianca is also studying French.

Bianca also donates her time at several fund raising events for Brown Avenue Elementary School, Johnston Lightning soccer, and Spooky World held every year at the Johnston Memorial Park. She is a tremendous role model to her siblings, Julia, 7, and Dylan, 6, according to her dad (and coach), Dan.

I knew that Bianca had something special the first time I saw her play soccer as a U8. I was her referee. She later came to play in several tournaments with my teams and the girls just adored her! She also scored goals for us as an eight year old, playing on my U12 team. She is a fantastic child and I have missed her and her family since moving to Florida five months ago. Congrats on all her accomplishments!
