What's Your Prediction For The Pats-Jets Playoff Game?
JohnstonPatch asked folks who attended the Johnston High School girls' basketball game on Friday night for their calls on the football game.
Who's going to win this Sunday's playoff game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets?
If the answers given at Friday night's Johnston High School girls' basketball game against Hope are any indication, the Jets don't stand a chance.
Julia Fortes said she has high hopes for the Patriots and is expecting an offensive explosion. "I'm a Patriots fan, and I know Tom Brady is going to throw five or six touchdowns," said Fortes.
"I'm excited. I can't wait for the game," said Mark Cunningham of Boston. "I've been waiting for the playoffs. It's the best time of the year, and I hope the Patriots play their best football."
George Murray, who was at the game cheering on his granddaughter, Hope High School's Mikaela Garvin, who scored her 1,000th career point, was equally optimistic.
"We're going to win," he stated confidently.
Murray's wife Diane was equally confident and alluded to the trash-talk going on in the Jets' locker room.
"The Patriots are going to win because they're quiet and calm and don't have big mouths," Diane said, adding: "It's the win that counts, not the noise."
