What Would You Put Here?
In a new feature, we take a look at vacant properties around Johnston — and ask you what could go there.
From Atwood and Hartford Avenues to Killingly Street and Plainfield Pike, Johnston has its fair share of vacant buildings. Some have been empty for years while others see a rotating crop of businesses.
But, if it were up to you, what would you like to see happen to these buildings? Each week, we'll feature one empty building, lot or area in Johnston and ask our readers what they'd like to see there.
This Week's Property:
Address: 1350 Hartford Ave. (next to Knight's Liquors)
History: This was the site of a McDonald's since 1968, until a new restaurant was built on Atwood Avenue (across from Stone Hill Marketplace, where Mario's Showplace used-ta-be).
Ownership: The Town of Johnston online Assessor's Database lists the current owner as Harvey's Investments LLC, which purchased the property from McDonald's Real Estate Company in January, 2008.
Status: Hayes & Sherry of Providence is the listed broker for the property, and is seeking lessees. See more about the property on Showcase.com
