Johnston is already well-known for its Italian restaurants, and we've got some great Oriental take-out places — but there have been some recent closings [Newport Creamery springs to mind] and the development at the former Stuart's plaza finally looking to get started.
Plus, there are the still-vacant properties at the former McDonald's and Wendy's on Hartford Avenue.
So we want to know: What type of food or restaurant is Johnston currently missing?
Let us know in the comment section.

There needs to be a Wendy's in Johnston. They have the freshest food with a great variety.

There is a lousy selection of restaurants around the Atwood/Hartford intersection. The Italian ones all taste like tomatoe sauce from a can, and the only other choice is Ruby Tuesdays. So ANYTHING would be a welcome improvement. And as far as the Stuarts Plaza making progress - well after making a big political thing of pics with the Mayor after they tore down a few of the buildings over a year ago, NOTHING has happened.

Just moved to Johnston. I have eaten at a few places. I have not seen a place to get a burger and a frappe. Well truthfully I have seen places that do have these things on their menus but we need a GOOD old fashioned Burger Place. Not the fast food ones.

I think a would like to see A Christmas Tree Shop go up in Stuart plaza along with A Cheesecake Factory Or Red Robin Gourmet Burger Restaurant.

Wendy's and Newport Creamery are missed by kids and grandparents. Wendy's is the favorite of the kids fast foodies, and where can we get a fairly inexpensive meal with ICE CREAM.
