What Do I Need to Know About the Primary?

Here's what you need to know if you're going out to vote in today's primary in Johnston:
Poll Times: Local polls open at 7 am and close at 8 pm. Watch JohnstonPatch for updates after polls close tonight.
Schools: Johnston Public Schools are closed today.
Voter ID: Rhode Island's new Voter ID law is in effect for today's vote. Be sure to bring photo ID to your polling place. Find more information on the Secretary of State's Voter ID web page.
U.S. Congress, 2nd District: Incumbent Rep. James Langevin faces primary challenger John Matson on the Democratic ticket, while four Republicans are listed on the GOP ballot today. The two winners will face off in November.
RI Senate, Dist. 25: State Sen. Frank Lombardo III and first-time candidate Nicole Acciardo square off in the Democratic primary that will decide the race.
RI House, Dist. 44: Democratic Rep. Peter Petrarca and challenger Gregory Costantino compete for the right to advance to the November election against Republican James Archer for the district, which also includes Lincoln and Smithfield.
Johnston Town Council, Ward 1: First-term Councilwoman Eileen Fuoco leads the Democratic ballot, ahead of Edward Cardillo and Paul Crowell III. Today's vote will decide the race.
Johnston Committees: Voters will also get to choose from among 12 candidates for Democratic Town Committee, and five of six listed for the Democratic Senate District Committee [including Joseph Polisena Jr., son of Mayor Joseph Polisena].
