Dedication to Andrew Greene: Following a vote by the Town Council, the young adult room at the new Marian J. Mohr Library will be named after Andrew Greene, and active participant in library programs before he died in 2007 at the age of 13. The new library is scheduled to open on April 9.
St. Rocco Raptors Advance To State Finals: The Catholic school's sixth-grade girls' basketball team finished their season with a 12-2 record following their win over Fr. John V Doyle School of Coventry on Feb. 26. Their coach, Dave Raposa, credited the young ladies with a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork.
JHA Says Proposed Cuts Will Harm Its Work: Officials at the Johnston Housing Authority said that a proposed bill in the U.S. House, known as H.R. 38, would cause severe funding problems for the local agency, if the proposal is enacted.
