Video: Mom, Son Brave the 'House of Shadows'

Peggy and Josh Passarelli of Johnston are two of the lead characters in Providence Lyseum's soon-to-be-released independent film.

A Johnston mom and her son play two of the lead roles in the soon-to-be-released House of Shadows, a film by the Rhode Island-based Providence Lyceum company.

Peggy Passarelli, who also had a role in the Lyceum's recent release, The Unproductive, plays Dr. Hannah Villager-Velo, a psychiatrist hired by the wealthy Silverfield family to figure out what's wrong with their daughter, Annabelle Lee [Olivia Pentell].

As Annabelle's family and boyfriend, Toby [Peggy's son, Josh] try to find the answer, Villager-Velo finds herself swept into an otherworldly mystery, quite a foreign experience for the normally "Spock-like" psychiatrist, Peggy explained.

The accompanying video is a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of House of Shadows at the Gov. Henry Lippitt House on Hope Street in Providence.

Karen Iacobbo, writer of the original story, producer of the film, and a principal of the Lyceum, explained during a recent interview that other footage was shot at the Gov. Sprague Mansion in Cranston and on the site of a Newport mansion.

Iacobbo's husband, Michael, directed the film and shares screenplay writing credits with Karen.

Karen Iacobbo said a final day of filming is scheduled for May 13, with editing and music scoring to follow before final release of the movie, expected later this year.
