State Police Report Arrests in Johnston
The following reports were recently posted on the Rhode Island State Police website. Where an arrest is reported, it does not indicate a conviction.
Rhode Island State Police reported a number of arrests made in Johnston over the weekend.
On Sunday, State Police arrested John Carbone, 40, of 40 Learnder Street, Providence, on an active Sixth District Court warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Johnston Police. Carbone was released following his arraignment at State Police Headquarters in Scituate.
State troopers also made three arrests in Johnston on June 16:
- Following the stop of the vehicle driven by Donald Theroux, 65, of 439 East School Street, Woonsocket, officers arrested Theroux on an active Third District Court warrant for failure to appear at a payment review hearing, stemming from a charge brought by Warwick Police. State police reported the stop was made at about 11:30 am a speed enforcement detail on Interstate 295 South at Route 6 in Johnston. Troopers transported Theroux to headquarters, and later turned him over to the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
- At 4:45 pm, troopers stopped the vehice driven by Michael Bates, 35, of 170 Blossom Road, Westport, MA, on Rte. 6 west. A check of Bates's license found an active Stxh District Court warrant for failure to appear at a court hearing on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Bristol Police. Bates posted bail at a hearing held at Scituate Barracks, and was released until a future court hearing.
- Just before 6 pm, State Police officers arrested Nicholas Sanzi, 21, of 6 Birch Lane, Scituate, on charges of illegal possession of vicodin and possession of marijuana. Troopers reported they stopped the vehicle driven by Sanzi on Route 6 in Johnston. Sanzi was released following an arraignment at Scituate Barracks.
And on June 15, officers stopped the vehicle driven by Barry Maldonado, 31, of 152 Danielson Pike, Foster, at about 1 pm on Rte. 6. A check of Maldonado's record found an active Family Court warrant for failure to appear at a non-support hearing. Troopers processed Maldonado at Scituate Barracks and turned him over to Family Court.
