St. Rocco's Animal Rescue Drive Raises $297

The students also donated pet need items to two local rescue organizations.

The second annual St. Rocco School animal rescue drive was held on May 9 through 13 to benefit the Providence Animal Rescue League and the Atwood Rescue Fund in Cranston.

Eighth-grader Nicole Bowman started the annual animal rescue drive at St. Rocco's last year, and fifth-grader Marissa Golomboski joined her after her dog recently died.

St. Rocco students raised $297 through several efforts, which including a dress-down day on May 11, where students donated $1 each to the animal rescue drive.

Many other animal items were donated by the students, including dog food, beds, and toys.

The P.A.R.L. and the A.R.F. foundations help animals who have been injured, abandonded or whose owners can no longer care for the animals.
