Slow Turnout in Johnston for Primary
Traffic was light at the Simmons Village polling place this morning.
Johnston generally followed the state trend of light turnout for today's Presidential primary, with 13 votes cast by 9 am at the Simmons Village Community Hall at 339 Simmonsville Ave.
The Providence Journal quoted Robert Kando, the state Board of Elections executive director, as saying that he expects small numbers of voters to go to their local polls to vote in the uncontested Democratic primary or the all-but-determined Republican contest.
