Slippery Commute Expected

The National Weather Service issues a hazardous weather advisory. A mix of snow and rain could make for a treacherous commute

Winter's timeout ends Wednesday morning, just in time to make for a slippery morning commute Wednesday.

The National Weather Service forecast a mix of rain and snow to begin in the early morning hours continuing through this afternoon, dropping around an inch of snow on Johnston. The mix could make for a treacherous drive to work. The weather service has issued a hazardous weather advisory beginning at 4:30 this morning.

The January thaw is over. Temperatures in the 40s and 50s, even eclipsing 60 in some areas, were recorded for much of the past week. Today's snow marks a stark change, with temperatures expected to be more seasonable, topping out in the 30s for the rest of week.
