The work to install a new 12-in. sewer line began in July following a ceremony attended by Gov. Lincoln Chafee, and crews have been steadily working their way east on Central Avenue.
On Friday morning, backhoes were in action, covering one part of the roadway with dirt prior to paving and digging a trench in another area for installation of the sewer line.
