RI State Police Arrest Log: Stolen Goods Suspect Nabbed on Warrant

State troopers arrested the Johnston man following a traffic stop in Providence.

Rhode Island State Police from the Scituate Barracks reported the arrest of a Johnston man, who is awaiting two trials on felony charges, on an active court warrant in an unrelated case on Monday.

Troopers stopped the car driven by Cristobal Rincon, 33, of 164 Borden Ave., just before 1 am Monday morning, Oct. 1, on Valley Street in Providence, and found the warrant issued by Third District Court for failing to appear at a payment review on a charge of driving with a suspended license brought by Johnston Police.

Rincon pleaded no contest to the charge in October, 2011, and currently has $227 in fines to pay, according to online court records.

State Police officers brought Rincon to the Adult Correctional Institutions, Cranston, after processing at state police headquarters.

Rincon is currently awaiting trial in Providence Superior Court on separate felony charges of receiving stolen goods and obtaining money under false pretenses brought by Pawtucket Police, and a felony count of receiving stolen goods filed by and Central Falls Police.

He is due to appear in court on the Pawtucket charge on Oct. 5.
