This format is great for debates, except Lehrer kept putting words in the President's mouth when he turned for rebuttal. The President can hold his own, and Mr. Lehrer needs a muzzle!

I agree. We must remember one thing. A liar can never look anyone in the eye when he speaks. What does that tell us? lol

One could clearly see, Obama did not want to be there. He looked like a school boy being reprimanded by his teacher. Head down, never looking at Romney, then the way he blinked his eyes at one point, it looked like (oh no) he got me again.

Romney has charisma of Reagan with the polish of JFK. Obama is acting like Jimmy Carter with the empathy of Al Gore looking for a teleprompter.

We have a 'clear vision' for the future not more rhetoric and lies. Obama spun in circles last night. He kept looking for more specifics so he could pick the Governors' brain. Ain't happening. The Governor was superb last night. He was very Presidential. The President was not. He couldn't even look the Governor in the eye. He kept looking down at the podium and at Jim Leherer to bail him out and at one point even nodded his head at him. The Governor laid everything out in black and white. On FoxNews pollster Frank Luntz had prior Obama voters and and overwhelming response was that they are NOT voting for Obama this time around. They do NOT want 4 more years of the same rhetoric and lies.

Well if you just tuned into the election last night you may think Romney was the more aggressive candidate, but this guy is like a snake when you try to nail him to his policies. When you think he has a policy out there he changes it to suite what ever venue he is in. He is like a shape shifter when you think you understand his plan he changes it. I watch politics all the time I am neither Dem nor Rep my wife thinks I spend too much time watching. So I have seen President Obama has laid out his plan and so the hole country including Fox News thought so had Mitt but in a moments notice he shift changed to another and before the election there will be another shift change from Romney. I'm not saying either one has it right there is just something about Romney that dose not pass the smell test. Then it is not only Romney but just the way republicans through the last 3 and a half years have been moving there radical agenda on the American people and refusing to compromise for the benefit of the American People over Corporations. Mitt Romney said, “Corporations are People.” Well they must be better than people if you would allow the country to sink to save them. Look I don’t care who you are just remember that the corporations have not kept up with the cost of living here in over forty years and that is why they have such gap between 1% and the 99%. It’s our country who do you trust is the question?

@Maxin: Time will tell my friend. Romney's life and his deeds are his living legacy. What does Obama have to show for his life. Every speech I have heard on him makes him sound like a racial being.

RI has the dubious distinction of loving Obama ,in spite of one of the highest unemployment rates in the US. Last night Obama looked like what he is , a superficial amateur. Romney took him to school

Lost isn't the word for it. Unprepared. He thought he was going to breeze through the debate. He can go on thinking he is 'eye candy' to the ladies. He can go on keeping company with celebs. It still won't help him any. He is just inept.

@JR... Jeez, what is the REAL reason for all of your hate. Could it be that you don't like black people. My guess is that you don't like Asians, Jews, Italians, etc, etc. Do you even like yourself??? Boy are you a bad mark on humanity.

@KenBattle....I do not hate anyone. Some of my best friends were black when I was growing up. AND I was a diehard Democrat up until this years election. How can you believe Obama's promises for change. Isn't it a pure coincidence that the unemployment rate miraculously went down just after the debate. Chicago politics in action. The "anointed one" now does MIRACLES. This is an unbelievably filthy race for the white house.

"Some of my best friends were black when I was growing up."

Those little black people on the TV? Those were actors, Gramps.
The example Romney lends to the rest of us? It's best to be born rich.

If there's an example in the mix, it's that a single Mom can still pull it off,
if the whole family gets behind the child. In most cases, they don't.

I think he's down for the count..... Especially with the mistake about US paying incentives to businesses to move out of the country -- and Romney coming back at him with the 'I must get a new accountant' statement. ! oye~

Look again, JR -

The essence of Mitt Romney's success is taking down weakened companies to raid their operating expenses and pensions - then parking the receipts offshore.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/09/romney-bain-builds-up-then-harvests-companies/

http://www.wired.com/business/2012/10/mitt-romney-wealthfront-taxes/

As to "self-made" men like Donald Trump, never mention their birthright...
Donald Trump, son of New York city real estate developer Fred Trump was sent to Wharton business school and given control of the company in 1971,

Much like Mitt Romney, he exemplifies the trend toward plutocrats claiming
humble roots - an exercise in writing fictional histories.

These mooks NEVER struggled to make a living.

Obama backs the wind turbine renewable energy projects. These projects are the way to create socialism.Socialism is what Obama wants .The government owns and operates everything. Look at the largest wind turbine in Rhode Island and its failure after three years of operation !

There is a wind turbine update on Oct 9 at 7 p.m. tonight . The three million dollar turbine is a total failure. The wind industry is hiding the dirty little secret of major gear box failures in these turbines . The Town of Portsmouth still owes 2 million in bond payments on this broken down financial fiasco .

Tonight the town is going to announce it plans to spend more money on the turbine and go into business with private wind turbine contractors .

The taxpayers have NO say in the matter and are being taken down the road by Socialism !
