Tonight's Johnston School Committee meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. at Ferri Middle School, is expected to include two commendations — one for Lisa Filippelli, the district's Teacher of the Year, and another for the Johnston-North Providence Cougars hockey team, who won the Division III state championship in March.

Filippelli also serves as chairwoman of the Marian J. Mohr Library Board of Trustees.

According to the agenda posted for the May 10 session (attached to this article), the school committee is scheduled to begin an executive, or closed, session at 6 p.m., and to open the public portion of the meeting at 7.
