Pocasset Flood Mitigation Plan

Under the terms of the application, the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service would provide $1.8 million in funding to purchase properties near the flood areas and preserve the land as open space.

NRCS would also pay more than $18 million to improve floodwalls to prevent future overflows, provide $1.9 million for administrative costs, and cover $2.5 million for land rights to properties that would later be cleared of buildings.
