Johnston tallied 38 points in the regular season finale on Nov. 2 in Westerly.

Keeping with their season-long performance, the Johnston High School football Panthers trounced Westerly by a 38-10 score on Nov. 2.

The Panthers finish the year undefeated and carrying a 270-46 scoring advantage into the Division II quarterfinals against Central, scheduled for tomorrow night at 7 pm at JHS.

Senior Evan Hopson accounted for 18 of Johnston's points against the Bulldogs, booting a 27-yard field goal and three PATs and snaring TD passes from two different Panther QBs to secure Johnston's 8-0 regular season record.

Senior captain RB Brendan Pappas added a 3-yard run, sophomore Curtis Mathieu scored on an 82-yard kickoff return, and sophomore Konstantinos Kirios drove into the end zone from 3 yards out to complete the Panthers' scoring.

Central finished fourth in Division II-B with a 4-3 divisional record including a Nov. 3 victory over Rogers.

The winner of Friday's contest will face the winner of Saturday's St. Raphael Academy-Woonsocket game for the right to advance to the semifinals, scheduled for Nov. 27.
