Mohr Library to Host Italy's 'La Befana'

The event is part of the library's "Passports on Friday" series.

On Friday, Dec. 21 at 4:30 p.m., children and families are invited to the Marian J. Mohr Memorial Library (1 Memorial Ave., Johnston) for a visit from La Befana, the face of Italy's Epiphany Eve holiday.

In the Italian folklore, Befana is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve (the night of Jan. 5), similar to Sinterklaas or Santa Claus.

Friday's event will feature a story, film and snacks, as well as a visit from La Befana herself!

This is part of the library's series, “Passports on Friday” which is presented by Ms. Carlene and Ms. Michelle once a month through May. Each event allows children and their families to visit different countries through crafts, stories, film and sometimes delicious food.
