July 26: Celebrate the Olympics

Just one day to go before the start of the 2012 Olympics — here are your 5 Things to Know Today for July 26, 2012.

1. Celebrate the Olympics: Okay, so opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics in London is tomorrow — why not make some plans today for how to celebrate? Patch has teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama [we don't mess around, you know] for Olympic Fun Day on Saturday. Click the link for more information.

2. London Calling: Be sure to watch for our coverage of tomorrow's opening day celebration at Cherry Hill Manor, which is expected to include Mayor Joseph Polisena carrying a torch from the Johnston Police Department.

3. London Weather: All right, Anglophiles, I know London isn't all gray weather and clouds — but Johnston will be for the next couple of days, unfortunately.

4. New Project: In case you missed it, we covered yesterday's ceremonial kick-off of the new Central Avenue sewer line construction project. [What?! You did miss it? Sign up for our email newsletter, and never miss another new post.]

5. Vote 2012: JohnstonPatch is offering an online survey for all Johnston candidates for office — click here to complete the form and reach local voters.
