Johnston physician James A. Gosper, 68, who has a practice located at 1524 Atwood Ave., has notified the Rhode Island Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline that he wishes to surrender his physician license due to health concerns, reported The Rhode Island Department of Health.
Gosper was operating under the terms of a consent order from 2008, which subjected him to monitoring after he tested positive for inappropriate benzodiazepine use. It was the third relapse since his monitoring program began in 2005.
