Johnston, DEM Reach Tentative Deal on Dams

The deal would resolve violations issued two years ago that deemed four town-owned dams are unsafe.

Mayor Joseph M. Polisena and the state Department of Environmental Management have reached a tentative agreement to repair four dams that the DEM deemed unsafe two years ago.

If the town is held responsible for the dams on the Oak swamp and Jilson by DEM,the Landfill should be held responsible for the Simmons Reservoirs. The Landfill have dumping their swill there for years.
