Johnston Town Council President Robert V. Russo was involved in a fight on Wednesday with the husband of a woman who works at Russo's law office, the Providence Journal reported.

According to the Journal, Russo alleged to Providence Police that David Batista, 36, attacked him outside the Seven Stars Bakery in Providence.

Police reported that Russo had been injured in the fight, which Russo said resulted in both men falling to the ground.

Batista later surrendered to police, and now faces a charge of simple assault.
