Here's a wrap-up of the stories that made the headlines on JohnstonPatch for the week ending July 20, 2012.

Toddler: A 23-month-old boy got out of his house early Tuesday morning, and neighbors helped get him back home safe.

Vases: In the second such case since April, Johnston Police arrested a local man for stealing brass vases from Highland Memorial Cemetery. Officers reported that they used a website to post a notice of the apparent theft, which helped employees of Metal Recycling report the man to police.

Lightning: As the hot weather moved out on Wednesday afternoon, it brought with it a fast-moving line of thunderstorms that knocked out power to about 500 National Grid customers. Nearly all of the outages were repaired by the next morning.

Ironman: Two years and a few days after a Taliban insurgent's bullet tore up his right hip and leg, Terry Rajsombath completed the Amica Ironman 70.3 in Providence. The Army National Guard soldier sat down for an interview this week and spoke about his experience.
