Day Off? Check out the Johnston Vendors at the Scituate Art Festival
It's the final day of the 46th Scituate Art Festival, which includes several vendors from Johnston.
With schools closed and the potential for good weather today, take a trip to the Scituate Art Festival — and be sure to visit the vendors from Johnston.
Here are the details on the last day of the festival, Oct. 8:
Hours: The festival is scheduled to run today from 10 am to 4 pm.
Vendors And Other Info: Cyndi Stanton (stained glass) and Valerie Thurber (oil paintings), both of Johnston, are among the dozens of local artists who are scheduled to be on hand. Steven & Shawne Bremges and Diane Spooner are among the listed antiques vendors for the event. For a complete list, check out the Exhibitors web page. New to the festival? How To Get There: For those of us in Johnston, there are a couple of ways to reach the Scituate Village Green:
- Plainfield Pike (Rte. 14) west to Rte. 116, then right onto Rte. 116 to Danielson Pike;
- Hartford Avenue (Rte. 6) west to the Danielson Pike split, then either direction to the intersection with 116.
- For out-of-towners: Follow this link to the festival's Directions Page.
Where To Park: Most parking is along local roads, though many folks park in lots where the businesses are closed (the Bank of America branch on Sunday, for example).
Entertainment: The Nightlife Big Band is scheduled to take the stage today from 10 to 11 am, and againt from 11:30 am to 1 pm, following a performance by the Scituate High School Chorus. Beginning at 1, the Scituate High School Marching Band is scheduled to perform. Open mike starts at 1:30 pm. Subject to weather conditions.
