Bites Nearby: Scramblers II

Every week, we'll take a look at a locally-owned eatery.

On July 18, my friend and I went to on Greenville Avenue for lunch, and were greeted by the friendly staff when we got there.

The diner was relatively busy with only two booths vacant. I ordered the meat lover’s omelet that contained big chunks of bacon, Italian sausage, ham and cheese served with four pieces of toast for $6.99 along with a side of home fries for an additional $1.75.

The omelet was not overly salted and was very tasty, and the ingredients were fresh. My friend ordered the veal and eggplant parmesan special for $8.95, which included a choice of a small salad — which was anything but small — or a cup of soup. She felt that the veal was right on point along with the homemade Italian red sauce, but felt the eggplant was a bit greasy. Still, she reported that she enjoyed the meal immensely.

Customers I spoke with raved about Scramblers — one of their regulars, Virginia Bowry, said the wait staff treats everyone like family.
