And the Winner of the JohnstonPatch Best Homecoming Float Poll Is...
The voting was so close that a tie-breaker decided the winner. Check out the video to see who won!
Hope the Presidential election isn't this close.
In our hotly-contested poll, three floats entered in the Johnston High School Homecoming parade tied for the top spot — leaving the tie-breaker of comments to decide the winner.
And, thanks to reader Renee Giorgi, who posted two comments in support of their creation, the Class of 2014 wins the contest with their "Silence the Storm" float.
Check out the accompanying video, where Junior Class President Jordan Campagnone describes the class float and the work that went into it, as well as views of the floats created by the Classes of 2013, 2015, and 2016.
[In the official judging on Saturday, the seniors scored first place, with the sophomores securing second, the juniors jumping into third, and the freshmen finishing fourth.]

Yaaaay!!!! The judges assigned to the Homecoming Floats this year only gave us third place this year (which was quite disappointing), so it is great to receive some additional recognition for all our hard work! Congratulations to the class of 2014!
