5 Things: What to Do on Columbus Day

Home with the kids today? We've got some cool ideas in our list of 5 Things to Know Today for Oct. 8, 2012.

 

 

1. Art Festival: Today is the final day for this year's Scituate Art Festival, which includes two artists and two antiques sellers from Johnston among the vendors. Hours are 10 am to 4 pm; follow the link for performances and directions.

2. Jack-O-Lanterns: Roger Williams Park is aglow with its "All the World's A Stage" Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Hours are 6 to 11 pm. Weekday admission is $12 adults/$10 seniors/$9 for kids 3 to 12/kids under 3 free. More deets at this link.

3. Hiking Trip: Blackstone Valley Outfitters in Lincoln is hosting a guided hike along a trail that runs by Stump Pond in Smithfield, among other sites. Hike starts at 9 am; $10 per person. Call (401) 312-0369 for info.
